ON A PALE HORSE by MONICA CORWIN

The highly anticipating conclusion to the Revelations series is out now!

And behold a pale horse that carried the name death…. Management of The Underground, a New York club with a reputation for delivering a host of guilty pleasures, could have been a whole lot more fun if Cloris didn’t spend half that time avoiding Hades. Despite the burning attraction to the former God of the Underworld, she still harbors a nagging fear that her advances could rekindle the disturbing experiences of Hel’s hospitality. But when the four horsemen discover that it may be possible to hang up their mantels for good, Cloris is torn between her desire to no longer be a horseman and her hesitation that she could be anything other than death…. Regardless of the scars he gathered from enduring time at the hands of Hel, Hades craves nothing more than to immerse himself in Cloris’s attentions. Frustrated by his inability to convince her that he desires her in every imaginable way, he fears she only sees him as damaged or worthless. But when the horsemen decide to truly embrace mortality, he realizes that he will have to move quickly… or risk losing her forever. In a race to the end, can Cloris and Hades embrace the love they could possibly share or will their stubbornness doom the horseman to live a life worse than death —remaining horseman forever? On a Pale Horse is the exciting conclusion to the Revelations Series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Monica Corwin. If you like the work of Larissa Ione, Karen Marie Moning and Kresley Cole you will love the four book to the Revelations series!

Don't forget to check out the first three books in there series too!

By the 1770’s, the glory of and power of Venice have faded, leaving the crumbling city vulnerable to conquest from without and irrational fear from within. A glimpse. A rumor. A whisper. That is all it takes for one ambitious man to bring the proud city once known as La Serenissima to its knees, terrorized by the evidence of plague and the thought of witchcraft.

Sophia Marivic struggles to hide in plain sight, afraid of the ancient Slavic blood that runs through her veins and gives her the ability to foretell the future. Her deepest secret is about to become her greatest weakness when she has a vision of a dark, mysterious man approaching Venice on a strange ship. The plague she fears the man brings is nothing she could have ever imagined. Death follows in his wake as he haunts and hunts her—heart, body, and soul.

As the body count rises, the calls for retribution against witches grow louder, and Sophia is caught in the crosshairs, trapped between the danger before her and the desire for the man who will be the death of her.

For Sophia, there can be no escape from her…Blood Fortune.

Weekly Feature: A Fistful of Evil by Rebecca Chastain

Today's spotlight author: Rebecca Chastain
Novel featured in the Dark Fates boxed set: A Fistful of Evil

http://angelaroquet.com/books_dark_fates.html

Madison’s new job would be perfect, if not for all the creatures trying to eat her soul…

Madison Fox just learned that her ability to see souls is more than a sight: It’s a weapon for fighting evil. The only problem is she doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing.

On the positive side, her money problems are over and her coworker is smoking hot. On the negative side, evil creatures now actively hunt her, and deadly experiences are becoming the norm.

When she thinks it couldn’t get worse, a powerful evil sets up shop at a local hotel’s video game convention, and it’s got its eye on more than the gaming geeks—it’s hungry for Madison’s soul. Madison needs to become an expert illuminant enforcer overnight to save her job, her region…and her life.

A Fistful of Evil is a fresh new adult urban fantasy from the author of the well-loved Gargoyle Guardian Chronicles. For a wildly imaginative story packed full of supernatural horrors, kick-butt action, and laugh-out-loud moments, you won’t want to miss this series starter.

Excerpt from A Fistful of Evil:

I blinked. Primordium replaced color, daylight, and familiarity. I braced my hands on my knees and stared at the gray dirt at my feet until gravity rebalanced itself. I took a quick peek at the sky. The cerulean cloudless expanse had been swapped with black—solid, unrelieved black. I could still feel the sun on my face, though I couldn’t see it in the sky. For all I knew, I was looking straight at it.
I shuddered and made a point not to look up again. Instead, I scanned the firehouse. There were people upstairs and something small and white just inside the bay doors. A cat? I turned to look at Rose. She glowed a pretty, opaque white. It was nice to know that not everyone who worked for the CIA looked like they had a sun stuck up their butt. Unlike Kyle, Rose’s features looked like they were cast out of pure white marble, not radiating light. She was also in possession of one of the cleanest souls I’d seen in a long time, aside from my own and Kyle’s. Even if I was dangerously deep in a world I knew nothing about, it was reassuring that I was on the good side.
Now why hadn’t I thought to look at my boss’s soul?
Because you’re trying not to use this sight, remember?
Too late for that.
I scanned the field. Only the blackberry brambles glowed. They were bright white, a mound of light with tendrils stretching across the dead field. Normally blackberry bushes tended to look sinister with all their thorns and the tenacious, mindless way they choked out other plant life. Now they looked like a beautiful oasis in a field of death.
I knew there had to be wildlife moving among the dead grasses, but the dark stalks were too dense for the small white bodies of rodents and birds to be visible from a distance.
I was about to switch back to normal vision when I saw it. Close to the edge of the fire station, hopping along unaware of my presence, was an imp. It was a little field mouse of an imp; I would have missed it if I hadn’t been looking so hard.
“There’s an imp over there.” I pointed.

“Oh, goodie. Maybe I can peek in a window. And maybe they’ll be having a naked wrestling contest.”

Rose sashayed across the gravel, heading straight for the imp.
“You can’t see it, right?”
“Nope. Take your time.”
I trailed after her. In its own dark and sinister way, the imp was remarkably cute. The ones in the restaurant had looked like chinchillas, and this one was a baby. Adorable. I flashed back on the prominent memory of the creatures jumping at Kyle. Maybe I’d overreacted. He hadn’t seemed the least bit frightened. Maybe they were just cute. All I would have to do was…whatever Kyle had done. Squint or something. Instinct would kick in and, poof, no more imp.
Unfortunately, the only instinct babbling in my head was telling me I needed to go the other way, not toward the harmless-looking fluff of evil.

Today's spotlight author: Kristin D. Van Risseghem
Novel featured in the Dark Fates boxed set: The Guardian, a Sword, & Stilettos

http://amzn.to/2ionTjv

Zoe Jabril could be just another 17-year-old girl attending parties with her friends and checking out cute guys—except her best friend is a Guardian Angel, and the boy she crushes on is a Nephilim, half-angel, both sent to Earth to protect her. A high school classmate happens to be a trendsetting shopaholic fairy. And now there’s a new werewolf in town.

Zoe has to deal with her feelings toward Shay, who spreads a strange electrical current through her body every time he touches her. Now Zoe is under constant attack from demons, trying to kill and stop her from fulfilling the Prophecy: a girl will be born who will unite the Enlightens to battle evil. Then on top of that, between boring homework and drama with girls at school, she has to control new found talents if she’s to prevent the devil from escaping Hell.

In order to do so, Zoe must devise a kick-ass plan ASAP or watch everyone die, because she’s running out of time. She turns eighteen in two months—the date Armageddon kicks off.

Kristin D. Van Risseghem grew up in a small town along the Mississippi River with her parents and older sister. Currently, Kristin lives in Minnesota with her husband and two Calico cats. And in the winter months, her main goal is to stay warm from the Minnesota cold!

Incense and Peppermints by Cathrina Constantine

Incense and Peppermints
Cathrina Constantine
Publication date: March 10th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult

Peace demonstrations, sit-ins, and burning the U.S. flag following the escalation of the Vietnam War are leading to a catalyst known to the world as the Sixties, and a musical revolution, flower power, hippies, marijuana, and drugs are carrying the generations—young and old—into a new decade. All the while sixteen-year-old Mary Monroe is caught between being an innocent good girl and an autumn of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.

When her brother offers a solution to her dilemma in the form of a little pill, Mary ignores the rumba in her brain and takes a walk on the wild side. Plunged into popularity and a life she’s only imagined, she meets Michael Covington, the hot newcomer, and she’s instantly drawn in by his less than flawless exterior and bad boy sex appeal. Caught up in the danger and excitement as they drift from party to party, into underground fight clubs, and through a series of drug and alcohol fueled adventures, Mary follows her new crush into a world where young girls are never truly safe from the predators lurking in the shadows and young men are hiding from the harsh reality of war.

Feeling buzzed and as if her life is spinning out of control, Mary is assaulted by an unknown man at a party, and she’s left questioning if the enigmatic Michael is truly her hero or if he is the face behind the terrible attack. With every piece of information Mary learns about Michael, her doubts grow deeper, but with every minute she spends in his presence, so does her love.

With the war and her fear threatening to separate Mary and Michael forever, only the death of a friend, a crushing confession, and her own sensibilities can carry her over the threshold between adolescence and adulthood.

EXCERPT:

September 1969

The corners of my bedroom had dulled to a muddy gray by the time my brother leaned on, or rather wobbled against, my door. His glassy eyes floated in their sockets. Stoned, again.

“Whatcha doing, Sis?” Stevie, my older brother slurred.

My gaze slipped over his pasty chest, sprinkled with wiry hair, and past his jockeys to his stick-like legs. Did he realize he was only wearing saggy underwear? Normally, I’d say gross and mock him, but only because he normally treated me like a speck of toe scum.

“Nothing much.” I slipped my diary into my sock drawer, away from prying eyes. Our parents weren’t home, and our little sister was asleep in her crib on the other side of my room.

“You need to grow up,” he said. “Here, it’s party time.” Pinched between his thumb and finger, he revealed an ordinary aspirin as if he’d procured the magic solution.

“Uh… I don’t have a headache.”

“Hey, turd. It’s not an aspirin. Stop the nerd act and get with the program. Grow up.”

Our sibling behavior toppled into the belittling and ridiculing stage. Though I figured it was his way of helping me. Yet, staring at the pill, I was interested, but a hootenanny of cymbals clashed inside my head and my sensible side screamed.

You’ll puke! I hate puking. Wasn’t it only last week Stevie was tripping and heaving guts like a water hose?

Shaking my head, I declined his kind and strange offer and tried using simple logic to get rid of him. “Not tonight. Mom and Dad will be home any minute. Go to bed. It’s late.”

“They’ll be so-o plastered. I can’t stand them like that.” Dejected, his shoulders slouched, and his body seemed to deflate. Until he tossed the pill, saying, “Catch.”
